What are used OE parts?
ANSWER:
Used OE parts are genuine original parts that have already been installed in another vehicle – for example, in accident vehicles or in test vehicles used by automotive manufacturers. Many of these parts are in excellent condition, have low mileage and show only minimal signs of wear. As part of the circular economy, they are ideally suited for reuse.
Second life.
First class.
Where do the used parts at ClaimParts come from?
ANSWER:
We source our parts from certified automotive recyclers in Germany and across Europe. These companies specialise in professionally removing high-quality genuine OE parts from decommissioned vehicles, including accident vehicles as well as test and development vehicles.
After thorough quality inspections, participating automotive recyclers make the parts available through ClaimParts for reuse.
Every accident vehicle is an opportunity for the environment.
Repairs using used OE parts reduce CO₂ emissions.
Are used OE parts safe?
ANSWER:
Yes, they are. All parts offered through ClaimParts undergo thorough quality checks before being sold. These inspections are based on our own quality manual, which sets stricter standards than the commonly used VDI industry guideline. Mileage, condition and signs of wear are documented in detail, including photographs. For body parts, even the thickness of the paint layer is recorded.
In jedem Unfallwagen steckt eine Chance für die Umwelt.
Which used OE parts are available through ClaimParts?
ANSWER:
We specialise in body and lighting parts – in other words, parts that are not safety-critical. Our range includes everything from doors and bumpers to headlights. Good to know: We are selective. ClaimParts only offers high-quality used OE parts, most of them with low mileage and only minimal signs of wear.
Focused on body and lighting parts – quality-checked and certified.
Which used OE parts are not available through ClaimParts?
ANSWER:
ClaimParts does not offer safety-critical parts. This includes brakes, airbags, restraint systems and electronic control units (ECUs).
What are the benefits of repairing a vehicle with used OE parts?
ANSWER:
New parts can sometimes have delivery times of several weeks or even months. ClaimParts provides access to millions of used OE parts, many of which are available immediately. This can speed up repairs and help get vehicles back on the road sooner. There is another important benefit: Every repair using a used OE part helps protect the environment by conserving resources and reducing CO₂ emissions. In short: a win-win situation.
Often available sooner than new parts.
When does it make sense to repair a vehicle using used OE parts?
ANSWER:
Repairs with used OE parts are a good option whenever repairing the original part is no longer practical, new parts are difficult to obtain due to supply shortages, or you deliberately choose a more sustainable repair.
The best choice when new parts are in short supply.
"New" versus "used": How much lower are the CO₂ emissions?
ANSWER:
The difference is significant. Studies by the Allianz Zentrum für Technik (AZT) and our partner Eco Repair Score show that reusing used OE parts can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 75% on average. For certain body parts, the reduction can exceed 90%.
Repair with used OE parts. Reduce your carbon footprint.
How can the sustainability of a repair be measured?
ANSWER:
The CO₂ calculator developed by our partner Eco Repair Score allows the environmental impact of every repair to be assessed individually, including transport distances.

Is there a warranty for used OE parts?
ANSWER:
Yes. Used OE parts are covered by a statutory warranty of at least 12 months. If your repair is carried out through your insurer by a certified repair shop, body and lighting parts are covered by a 24-month statutory warranty – the same as for new parts. This means you can choose a repair using used OE parts without compromising on warranty protection.
12- or 24-month statutory warranty.
Can I decide whether a used OE part ist used for my repair?
ANSWER:
If you are paying for the repair yourself, the decision is entirely yours. If your repair is covered by your motor insurer, the insurer is involved in the decision. Many insurers now offer repairs using quality-checked used OE parts. In these cases, you can choose whether your vehicle is repaired using new or used parts.
As a vehicle owner, the choice is yours.
In the event of an insured claim: Where will my vehicle be repaired using used OE parts?
ANSWER:
If your insurer supports repairs using used OE parts, your vehicle will be repaired by a certified partner repair shop. These repair shops meet strict quality standards that are regularly monitored. This ensures that all parts are installed professionally and that your warranty rights remain fully protected.
